Gasparo Arnaldi is one of the anonymous composers: apart from the two trio sonatas for salterio, violin and violoncello from the Genoa collection, only the oratorio L'Arcangelo Raffaele riconosciuto from 1741 has survived, also in Genoa; his life dates are still unknown.
The present arrangement from 1976 was revised for the first printing by referring back to the original.
