Kreuzlinger Franz - Missa semplice

Product information "Kreuzlinger Franz - Missa semplice"

Kreuzlinger Franz
Missa semplice

For choir and organ

The “Missa semplice”, created in 2020, is written in a moderately modern tonal language and is both a novel and catchy interpretation of the traditional Latin mass. While the corner sacks “Kyrie eleison” and “Agnus Dei” refer to Mozart (a counterfacture to one of his psalm settings) and the chorale “O Lamm Gottes”, one believes that the influence of Carl Orff can be heard in the repetitions. The Credo sounds impressively unanimously throughout with a melody line that goes through the circle of fifths.
