Jean Francois de Guise was born on 15.05.1970. He received his first musical lessons in 1976 on the recorder. From 1991 to 1996, he studied in Paris and elsewhere.
His teachers included Jean Langlais, Sergiu Celebidache and Rolf Reuter. De Guise was particularly influenced in his composition by the American composer Elliott Carter.
He worked for many years as a solo trumpeter and conductor with renowned orchestras before devoting himself almost exclusively to composing and teaching.
De Guise's compositional output comprises around 450 works, including 4 operas and 32 orchestral concertos.

Humperdinck EngelbertEvening blessing from the opera "Hansel and Gretelfor 4-part choir a capella(ad lib. with accompaniment of a small orchestra)Arranged by Franz KreuzlingerEngelbert Humperdinck's "Abendsegen" from the fairy tale opera "Hänsel und Gretel" is certainly one of the most popular works, not only during the Christmas season. Franz Kreuzlinger succeeded in transferring the original version into a four-part, easily executable choral setting without having to greatly reduce the rich harmonies and fine counterpoint. The new version can be performed by a choir a capella or with the accompaniment of a small orchestra. The version is particularly suitable for use in youth, amateur or school orchestras.

Kreuzlinger Franz Auf nach Bethlehem!Advent melodiesfor male quartetIn the Alpine region, there was a tradition of moving the Christmas story, which in the Bible is clearly located in the Middle East, to the local mountain landscape. The three Advent songs ("Rorate", "Es hat der Kaiser Augustus" as well as "Geh' Hanserl pack' dei Binggerl z'samm") therefore speak of ice and snow or of the clarified butter that the shepherds are supposed to take with them on their journey to the Savior Child. The songs have been transcribed as faithfully as possible and arranged for male quartet and male choir. The key can be adjusted up or down as needed.4x Choral score / 4 x 3 pages
Puccini, GiacomoRequiem(1905)for tenor, choir and organ
Arranged by Franz Kreuzlinger
In memory of his teacher Guiseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini wrote a small „Requiem” for viola, choir and organ in 1905. On the occasion of the Puccini year 2024, Franz Kreuzlinger wrote a version in which the solo viola part becomes a solo tenor part. The choir can be performed originally on the organ or by a string orchestra. At the same time, a purely instrumental version was created for solo cello or solo viola and strings, which turns the choral work into an impressive instrumental meditation.

Schubert, FranzGod is my shepherd (Psalm 23)for female choir a cappellaArranged by Fanny JansenSchubert's beautiful setting of the 23rd Psalm is part of the standard repertoire of every women's choir.
