Debussy, Claude
Minuet ⁕ Ballet
from "Petite Suite" (1888/89)
for 2 violins, viola and violoncello

Arranged for string quartet by Claus-D. Ludwig

Claude Debussy (1862-1918) composed the Petite Suite in 1888/1889 for piano four hands. It comprises the four movements En Bateau, Cortège, Menuet and Ballet and is one of Debussy's best-known works. Among the many arrangements, the 1907 orchestration by Henri Busser (1872-1973) is probably the most popular.
For the present arrangement for string quartet the two movements Menuet and Ballet were chosen.
