Guise Jean François de
Romance violet pour flûte, violoncelle et piano
op. 25, No. 7

The title "Romance violet" seems rather unusual.
The work was created at the end of 2009, in which Jean François de Guise puts calm and reflection in the foreground.
Violet, in the Christian Church the liturgical color for Advent and Lent and in faith the color of reflection, penance, contemplation and conversion and thus stands for spirituality or the mystical.
Jean François de Guise, who himself was active in church music for years, documents, with this piece, a longing for inner contemplation and peace, also in music.
The many quiet, almost transcendent sounds immediately take space and time to cast a spell over the listener. Perhaps that is the real challenge for the interpreters to serve exactly this meditative and yet stringently flowing level of the piece from the beginning?
Once again the composer proves how pleasant contemporary music can be without having to use postmodern phrases.
