Product information "Zezilius, Robert M. - Two humorous melodramas"

Zezilius, Robert M.
Two humorous melodramas

Melodramas were extremely popular in the 19th century and versions with musical backgrounds were created for almost all great ballads. The partly commenting juxtaposition of language and music lends itself especially to a humorous verbalization or a very satirical commentary. Robert M. Zezilius has orchestrated two historical melodramas based on ballads by Friedrich von Schiller ("Die Bürgschaft" and "Der Handschuh"). The music is by Gustav v. Gizycki and by Diego Fischers. Diego Fischers is the pseudonym of the creator of the quite equally humorous variations on "'S kommt a Vogerl geflogen" by Siegfried Ochs.
