Jean François de Guise, who also worked as an organist for a long time, created several works for the organ that were specifically intended for meditations or devotions.
Since these pieces work immediately, fit on the large organ as well as on instruments that have only one manual, and do not demand too much of the beginner, but are nevertheless effective in sound, they are heard again and again in concerts.
The works also find their way into organ lessons.
That they are jewels of music is additionally documented by the fact that the three pieces were published for the first time in 2001 and have meanwhile (2015) appeared in the 3rd edition.
