"three small easy pieces for organ" is how Jean François de Guise named the pieces for organ written in 2021.
However, the title is somewhat deceptive, for the three short pieces are hardly simple in the sense of easy.
Arranged in the extended 12-tone technique and quite playfully in the middle range, the works are a preparation for larger compositions by the composer. They will probably be heard more in concert than, for example, in a church service. Unfortunately, organists still lack the courage to present new works to the congregations. Jean François de Guise does this consistently and with great approval. The first performance in 2021, in a church service was met with great appreciation and so some time later the pieces were included as requested pieces in a program dealing exclusively with contemporary organ music.
