About the creation of the work:
During my time as a lecturer at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences, Groningen, some conservatory students made a request to me to extend the repertoire for a string orchestra. They did not want to play the same music over and over again.
Since Schumann composed nothing for a string orchestra alone, but composed many wonderful pieces for piano, I chose these pieces for two- and four-hands. These works are ideal for strings.
The students played these arrangements with great joy.
