Guise Jean François de
Broken piece Trio for Horn in F, Viola and Piano
op. 25, No. 12

1:40 minutes is the duration and yet highly demanding and demanding and powerful that make up the "broken" trio.
In 2014 the Scottish conductor and pianist Andrew Dunscombe and the composer Jean François de Guise met again. Both musicians, who were engaged at the Anhaltisches Theater Dessau in their younger years and learned to appreciate each other there, first worked on a piece for flute and baritone, which was based on poems by the Japanese poet Ko Ohashi, and for which Jean François de Guise wrote the texts from Japanese into German translated. Andrew Dunscombe edited the final text, which was used in English. During this work the question arose about a short piece for horn, viola and piano.
Jean François de Guise created a work whose compact sound breaks off suddenly before the piece seems to have been completed.
But, that was exactly the intention, which is also expressed in the title. The listener is left alone in the middle of the piece, as if the musicians had decided to pause.
However, the musical work will not be resumed.
