The two instructional works for playing the salterio by Vicente Adan, announced in the Gazeta de Madrid on 13 March and 7 August 1781, are (still) lost. It therefore became necessary to develop instructions for the salterio, an instrument that was once again entering the musical consciousness, which would enable the dulcimer teacher and the dulcimer student to approach classical salterio music for the second time - after the first, which was introduced in the 1970s with today's dulcimer.
